The SADC Secretariat, SADC Business Council, and the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be hosting the 6th annual SADC Industrialization Week (SIW) from 2 - 6 August 2022 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. This year’s event will allow for both physical and virtual participation.
The SIW is an annual public-private engagement platform aimed at fostering new opportunities for intra-African trade and investment. The theme for this year is "Promoting industrialisation through agro-processing, mineral beneficiation, and regional value chains for inclusive and resilient economic growth.”
The SIW format features keynote addresses from high profile speakers on a wide range of themes and topics; panel discussions with industry experts and project owners; break-away sessions of key topical concern; exhibitions; matchmaking for SMEs as well factory tours.

About BADEA
The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) was established pursuant to the resolution of the 6th Arab Summit Conference at Algiers (28th November 1973). The Bank began operations in March 1975. BADEA is a financial institution owned by eighteen Arab countries members of the League of Arab States (LAS) which signed its Establishing Agreement in 18th February 1974. The Bank is an independent International Institution enjoying full international legal status and complete autonomy in administrative and financial matters. It is governed by the provisions of its Establishing Agreement and the principles of international law.
