The SADC Business Council (SADC BC) was officially launched in August 2019 during the 4th annual SADC Industrialisation Week held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
As part of its growth plan, the SADC Business Council has developed a five-year strategy and action plan. This plan has been developed in consultation with private sector apex bodies at national level (the founding members), SADC Secretariat, various trade and industry associations, SME associations, selected government agencies, cooperating partners and corporate entities in various sectors. At the core of this intervention is the desire for informed and inclusive policy lobby and advocacy on business environment and investment climate issues within the SADC region among the SADC member states
