The NEPAD Business Foundation held its fifth Annual General Meeting and private sector networking luncheon event on Monday, 18 August 2014 in Sandton. The NBF’s fifth AGM hosted keynote speaker Dr. Nkosana Moyo, Founder and Director of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) and recently appointed NBF patron who is a renowned orator that is well known for his forthrightness in discussing African issues.
In his address themed ‘The Role of the Private Sector in Africa’s Economic Integration’, Dr. Moyo shared his unique insight into Africa’s geopolitical landscape and its socio-economic development dynamics, which added to the private sector’s understanding of the continent as they execute their Africa strategies.
Focusing on ‘The Role of the Private Sector in Africa’s Economic Integration’, Dr. Moyo highlighted on the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and expanded on the aspects of this roadmap that will help to consolidate African economies. The keynote address featured the importance of practical involvement and participation by the private sector in Africa’s development and inspired businesses to engage government in order to create viable NEPAD partnerships.
